Early Summer plant growth

Early summer plant growth is now in full swing. Recently I saw Bergenia cordifolia in flower in a front border outside Woodies DIY in Tralee, County Kerry. The cup-shaped white flowers which are flushed with pink looked fantastic. Bergenia sp. which is commonly known as Elephant's Ears is an evergreen perennial which is very useful as a front of the border plant. Will get some pictures of this plant & post it on this blog.
Fraxinus excelsius (Ash) a deciduous tree has been putting out leaves over the last two weeks. Ash is perhaps the latest deciduous tree to form leaf buds. Will enlighten you as to why this is so in future posts. In the mean time enjoy your gardens.
