GARDENING BOOKS
I would enthusiatically recommend the following gardening books as essential reading because they are written by masters in the field of gardening and horticulture.
- The RHS Bicentenary Edition Encyclopedia of Gardening (revised edition 2004). Published by Dorling Kindersley Ltd, London (Log onto www.dk.com for their complete catalogue). This is an excellent encyclopedia which makes the most up to date gardening knowledge available to all who seek it.
- The RHS website contains a wealth of gardening & horticulture books. All the publications are practical & easily understood. I would highly recommend the RHS website. Here is the web address: http://www.rhs.org.uk/learning/publications/pubs_library_books.asp
- The Gardener's Year by Alan Titchmarsh (BBC Books, London, 2005). It really is 'The ultimate month-by-month gardening handbook.
- Organic Gardening by Geoff Hamilton (Dorling Kindersley Ltd, London, 1987, 2004). Described as 'The classic guide to growing flowers, fruit and vegetables the natural way'. If you want to create a garden free of chemicals then this practical, detailed book will enable you to do just that.
